Sensei Michel Gaudet

Michel Gaudet, 3rd Dan, started training in 1982 with JKA Instructor Louis Commeau.

Looking through my certificates I passed my 3rd kyu in 90. I had stopped for personal reasons. In 86 and 87 I made the NBKA provincial junior team. At that time they only pick 2 males and 2 females. In 2007 I wanted to start karate again with my son and found out that Isabelle was teaching at the Y. She has been my sensei ever since.

Michel operated a branch of the Moncton IKD at Ecole le Sommet until the Spring of 2018. In the Fall, he moved to the Rotary Lodge in Dieppe and created the new Karate Shotokan Dieppe. The dojo operated for a short time but closed due to limited class time. He continues to assist Sensei Isabelle Bordage at the Moncton IKD.

Also in 2018, Michel along with a team of competitors from the Maritime IKD traveled to Barbados for the IKD World Cup. Michel captured a Gold medal in sparring and is the 2018 IKD World Kumite Champion (40-49 yrs).
