Riverview East Karate “Battle in the Sand” πŸ—“

Riverview East Karate presents “Battle in the sand” at Parlee Beach on Saturday August 28 at 10:00am. The beach clinic will consist of 30 mins training on the beach followed by a mini goodwill tournament. The tournament will consist of team kumite and every competitor will receive a trophy of either 1st place or 2nd place. The cost to compete will be $20. Students can also attend the clinic for free without competing. we will have photographer there. Talk with your sensei in class if you wish to compete for a trophy! and good luck to all!

Riverview East Sparring Clinic πŸ—“

Riverview East Karate is pleased to have TWO very special guests coming to host a sparring clinic on Monday June 21st.

Sensei Craig O’Neil, 5th Dan, won the karate provincials for fighting 7 times and competed nationally as well. He started training in karate in 1986 and received his black belt in 1993. He has many years of teaching and competing and we are very lucky to have him come to Riverview for sparring training.

Joining him will be Sensei Barry Ripley, a karate founder in our area who started training in 1966.

The clinic will be at the Coverdale Rec Center on Runnymeade Rd. Riverview, NB.

This is a free event. There will be 2 separate groups 6:30pm and 7:30pm. Sparring gloves (red or blue) can be purchased at the dojo for $35. Please make every attempt to attend this special class.

KARATE IN THE WOODS πŸ—“

On May 29th, Karate students (and parents) are invited to meet at the dojo at 12:00 (noon) for an exciting event…KARATE IN THE WOODS at MILL CREEK.

Leaving from the woods behind our dojo, we will embark on a 30 minute hike through the trails and arrive at the Riverview Dam waterfall at Mill Creek. At this time we will also have a 30 minute Karate Class at the fire pit clearing before Hiking back to the Dojo.

This is a FREE event. Photographer will be present. If the weather is cold or raining, we will reschedule for end of June.

Maritime IKD Virtual Kata Tournament πŸ—“

All ages, all ranks

Cost $5 per participant

Choose any kata, participant must bow, announce kata, perform kata, yame then bow to complete video

Videos to be submitted by noon on May 2

  • Name your file with full name, age and rank (Kyu or Dan not color)
  • Sunday May 9, 9:30am-
    • Judging and medals awarded to each instructor to take back to their students.
