Courtney joined karate because it looked fun and challenging.

When Courtney is not practicing karate she likes to do Gymnastics, reading and art. Then there is her love of Polar Bears.

“I adore polar bears and I want to grow up and work with them. I got to go to Toronto in 2016 and see the polar bears at the zoo. My favorite was Juno. He was just a baby then.”

Courtney’s father recently joined karate and she like being able to help him.

“Once Sensei Janice was working with the white belts and I was training near them. She was doing Heian Shodan and she couldn’t resist scaring me with her loud kiai. I thought she was going to hit me!”

Courtney is a dedicated student. When she was a white belt she would come into class and work on her kata while the other white belts played.
